Fenwick Swimmers Starting off Strong!

The Falcons had a great showing at the Harrison Invitational on Saturday (12/8). Last year at this meet the girls finished 5th and the boys 4th with a combined team finish of 4th behind McNick and Badin. This year the girls finished 2nd, 9 points ahead of Badin, and the boys finished 3rd for a combine team finish of 2nd.

There were just over 200 swimmers at this invitational and we had a number of notable finishes. Both the girls and boys 200 Medley relays took 2nd as well as the boys 200 Free relay, and the girls relay team of Sarah Kalenta, Izzy Baker, Molly Klimo and Emily Olson took first in the 200 Free relay. Top individual finishers include the butterfly duo of Emily Olson and Tyler Schehr each taking first in their events. Freestylers Molly Klimo and Jacob Short also came up big with a 2nd and 3rd place showing in their events. Tyler Schehr also took first in the 50 Back, while Hope Evans picked up a second in the same event. Sarah Kaleta scored a win in the 100 IM and freshman Hudson Schultz took 2nd in the 100 Breast.

The girls team "Swimmer of the Meet" of the meet is Molly Klimo for her stellar individual performances in the 100 Free (2nd) and 100 Fly (3rd) as well as her contributions in the 200 Medley Relay (2nd) and winning 200 Free Relay. For the boys "Swimmer of the Meet" Liam Rogers is recognized for his performance in the 100 IM and 100 Free Relay, but especially for the 100 Back. During the event Liam's goggles came off, yet he still finished the event without stopping. This would be like loosing a shoe during a break away and still making the lay up. . . .with your eyes closed! Congratulations Molly and Liam.

We have a big week this week as the Aqua Falcons face off against Roger Bacon and Purcell Marion on Tuesday and a head to head match with Badin on Saturday. Go Falcons!
