The Falcons season has wrapped up for swimming this year, and it was a great one. In the GCL championship, the Falcons had some excellent performances. The Girls team finished 2nd (226 points) and the Boys finished 2nd as well (242 points). The Falcons team overall finished 3rd in the GCL (268 points). This was a great finish to an even better year for this team.
John Kaleta made the GCL First team for 200 IM and 100 Breast. The Girls 200 Medley Relay made the GCL Second team, with Jordan Peck (10), Rachel Fossum (11), Stephanie Rose (10), Allison Cifuentes (12). The Boys 400 free relay also made the GCL second team with Jack Barker (11), Elliott Fossum (9), Colin Guyler (11), Joe Abbott (12). There were also a handful of 3rd Team All League Winners: Joe Abbott for the 200 IM and the 500 Free, Reid Fossum for the 100 Back, The Boys 200 Medly Relay (Jack Barker, John Kaleta, Dempsey Ptaszkiewicz, Reid Fossum), Rachel Fossum for the 100 Breast, Stephanie Rose for the 100 Free, and the Girls 200 Free Relay (Stephanie Rose, Caroline Hinker, Jordan Peck, Alison Cifuentes). These are phenomenal results for a team that worked incredibly hard all year.
Coach Katie Dukes was named Coach of the Year for 2022-23! Coach Dukes led the Falcons to a 3rd place GCL finish this year. The boys will compete in sectionals 2/10 at Mason High School. The girls will compete in sectionals on 2/11 at Washington Township Rec Center.
