Fall sports are under way and here are previews for each of our teams competing this fall. Good luck to all of our fall student-athletes!
FOOTBALL
Falcon football on offense returns seven starters from last season's team. The offensive line has the most starters back, led by four-year letter winner Spencer Meiring. They also have two of the leading rushers from last season, JR Connor Schmuelling and SO Jordan Vann. On defense, the team brings back five returning starters. Leading the group at linebacker is three-year starter Mathew Swisher, while Vincent Giordana anchors the defensive line. In the secondary, Shaefer Janeck and John Tanaka will return with tons of experience. The Falcons will also showcase one of Ohio's top kickers in Derek Morris, who has already received three scholarship offers as a kicker. The team looks to build off last year's 7-4 season.
BOYS SOCCER
The Falcons boys' soccer team returns seven starters from last year's team, Bruce Bray, Luke Vendely, Jake Yingling, Carson Cooper, Ben Norton, James Coach, and Jack Coch. Those returners will be joined by new starters, Nathan Sarley, Nolan Weber, Liam Battaglia, and Enzo Battaglia. Josh Sabin, Caleb Schwinnen, Dempsey Ptaszkiewicz, Charlie Williams, Luke Bray, Eli Capell, and Nick Heilers fill out the roster and will play vital roles in the Falcons' success this season. The Falcons boast a very strong group of core players who can be extremely dangerous and creative on the field. They play an attractive style of soccer, with multiple players capable of scoring in a variety of ways. This team will battle for the entire 80 minutes, showing no quit.
GIRLS GOLF
The varsity girls golf program returns five of six varsity players from last year's team which includes the GCLC Player of the Year, Sophie Rush.
GIRLS TENNIS
We have four returning varsity players including our 2nd doubles lead from last year who is now the #1 singles and a team captain, SR Katie Knudsen. Our rivalry matchups with Alter and Badin take place in September. Our team goals are to win the league and achieve a 75% win rate in matches this season. We have a tough schedule, so we will be challenged in almost every match and hope to come out with the victories!
BOYS GOLF
Boys' varsity golf returns Dan McDonald, Luke Faris, and Hugh Lenz from last year's team. We are still a young team that has a lot of potential for growth. Junior AJ Black, along with sophomores Will Lenz and Gavin Polomsky, will be joining the varsity team this year and are expected to make a significant impact.
